July 18, 2009, I rented a bike in New Orleans and made lots of pictures of places related to Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of President John F. Kennedy. Some are definitely important in his life, others are subject of speculation; so many stories have been told during the past 45 years...

My name is Perry Vermeulen, born Dec. 08, 1982. I wrote two books on the assassination in 2008 and 2012, only published in the Netherlands. More information on www.leeharveyoswald.nl and on www.50jaarlater.nl.

Enjoy the photo's - please contact me if you'd like to use them on a website or in a publication: perry_vermeulen@hotmail.com
This is just a selection: I've got every building in multiple angles, 3072x2304 pxl.

My journey through the US (roughly Chicago-St. Louis-Memphis-New Orleans) can be seen on the 91 pictures here.

Best wishes,
Perry Vermeulen

<-- Me standing in Lafayette Square, New Orleans. On the left, behind the statue, is the location of the Newman Building, where Banister had his office.

500 Bourbon Street. Once the location of The 500 Club, a joint owned by mob Carlos Marcello.

Oswald was here on several occasions, according to Judyth Vary Baker and others.

Old painting of the building + 2 pictures made by me, of the interior in 2009.

The corner of Camp and Lafayette, once the location of the Newman Building, where Banister had his office. "We called it the Banister Building", says Judyth Vary Baker.

The corner of Camp and Canal, once the location of the International Trade Mart. At this corner Oswald handed out his leaflets to passengers.

It's a pity the beautiful building doesn't exist anymore, in my opinion.

International Trade Mart back then...

Bus 11, riding the Magazine Street. The bus Oswald took to his job at Reily's. Judyth Vary Baker says she met Oswald every morning in this bus, when they both went to work.

The Reily Coffee Company on 640 Magazine Street. Lee Harvey Oswald worked here.

Behind the Reily Coffee Company is this alleyway. The Crescent City Garage, then owned by Adrian Alba, is on the right, next to Oswald's work. Alba testified he often talked to Oswald during that summer of 1963.

3101 St. Charles Avenue, Mary Sherman's apartment Building. She was murdered here July 21, 1964. Anyone who read Edward Haslam's book Dr. Mary's Monkey knows her possible relation to Oswald's life.

1347 Exposition Boulevard, house of Dr. Alton Ochsner. Anyone who read Edward Haslam's book Dr. Mary's Monkey knows his possible relation to Oswald's life.

1032 Marengo Street. Judyth Vary Baker lived here in 1963, close to Lee Harvey Oswald.

Lee Harvey Oswald lived here several months in the summer of 1963, on 4905 Magazine Street.

Magazine Street. Important street in Oswald's last year.

In 2007 Edward Haslam published Dr. Mary's Monkey, an updated account on the death of Mary Sherman. Haslam believes that Sherman was involved in carrying out secret research into developing a vaccine to prevent an epidemic of soft-tissue cancers caused by polio vaccine contaminated with SV-40. This work included using a linear particle accelerator located in the Infectious Disease Laboratory at the Public Health Service Hospital in New Orleans - shown on this photo and the next one.

St. Charles Streetcar. Wonderful way to travel through St. Charles Avenue :)

3225 Louisiana Parkway Avenue. David Ferrie had a secret lab here, according to multiple sources.

The day before, Walter Cronkite died. He's announcing Kennedy's dead on this still.
